There are many LED string light sets available online and in stores. I wanted my lanterns to look like those in the Magic Kingdom so I selected a black outdoor LED string light set from Costco that has 24 bulbs (one bulb per lantern) spaced two feet apart for a 48ft long strand that circles my room. Since space may vary in your home, here are a few light sets that may better suit your needs. While I haven’t tested them, they carry similar qualities to my set.

Here are two key takeaways:

No matter what, make sure that your string lights have LED bulbs. No incandescent bulbs!
An outdoor set is better designed and may offer increased safety and reliability. YMMV.

LED fairy lights for 1-3 lanterns

If you have 1-3 lanterns, LED fairy lights may be a better option for you. I have not tried any of these personally but found similar ones in local stores for testing purposes. (photos coming soon)
